If they can do it...

A wise writer once said to me
"There's no such thing as writer's block.
Only writer's embarrassment."

Words to live and write by.

In which I pick myself up, dust myself off...

Ok, well, this daily writing thing seems to be taking too much a back seat to other stuff. I have to figure out where to slip the time in.... Lots of stories are swirling around in my head though. I've almost finished the plot book. It's obviously geared a bit more toward movie writers, but the basics of storytelling are essentitially the same. The "here are the plot" parts aren't as useful as I had hoped, not yet anyway. I guess part of me is still looking at a plot as a blueprint. I'm trying to make the shift towards the ideas I had, but old habits (like plot as blueprint and not writing daily ;)) die hard, eh?

I think I need to formulate the ideas I was having and get them down and see what I can do with them. I think it would be a more useful way to think of plot and help me get from one scene to another. Well, I'll get it written up and see what folks think....

Too much thinking while writing this entry? It's been 15 mins already. But I really don't see sustained mindless rambling as being the key to the kind of writing I actually want to do....
